The Peacebuilding Centre for the Horn of Africa (PCHA) helps develop the capacity and performance of national associations, political parties and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs). | PCHA promotes institutional forms of action, goal oriented planning and strategic commitment to sensible policy response. | Within the Horn, PCHA prioritizes organizations in countries undergoing sever crisis. Our special focus on Somalia and Sudan acknowledges that state polices, bred instability. | At PCHA we believe that future opportunities to consolidate stability & ensure democratic transformation in the Horn depend largely on the following: | a) Revitalizing civil society. | b) Transforming armed protest movements into broad based effective groups that can address grievances, inspire communities and respond to their needs. | c) Supporting institutionalized collective efforts to design proactive programs and strategies that prevent protest groups from becoming tools for fanaticism, racism, instability and chaos. |
